TO preserve the principles of group solidarity, camaraderie, military excellence and integrity, exemplified by THE OLD EIGHT ILLINOIS.

TO establish the association as a recognized force in being in the community, ultimately to be recognized as a creative entity.

TO develop and foster fraternal relations with civic leaders in business and government, and military units in the area, through close cooperation and coordination.

1999 MISSION STATEMENT

Provide leadership, guidance, consultation, mentorship to youth within our community, specifically members of the United States Armed Forces and Junior ROTC Units.  Also provide assistance on an as needed basis to retired and / or former members of the 8th Infantry and its offspring units.
