An approved copy of the patch was presented to (then) Colonel Jones by General Ferry circa 1953.

During World War 1, as the 370th Infantry, U.S., the 8th Infantry served with distinction
with the French 34th, 36th and 59th Infantry Divisions earning streamers for
battles of Lorraine and Olse-Aisne. This is photo of the actual streamer from the
collection of the 8th Infantry.
