CPT Johnson received a ROTC commision on 22 May 1992 after 31 months of SMP enlisted service.  He is the current (May 2004) commander of Headquarters & Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion (Air Assault), 178th Infantry.  Prior assignments include Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, and Logistics Officer, all with the 1/178th.  In 1998 CPT Johnson attended US Army Jungle Warfare School, Fort Sherman, Panama, and in 2002, he attended the Combined Arms Service Staff School, Grafenwohr, Germany.  His many awards include the Army Commendation Medal (3 OLCs), the Army Achievement Medal (2 OLCs), National Defense Service Medal (2 awards) and the Humanitarian Service Medal.  His civilian education consists of a Bachelors Degree in sociology and a Masters Degree in Counseling.  He is currently an Intern at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology-Chicago Northwest.
